The U13's played in a very strong league, which featured teams such as Granta, Camden and St. Giles, we finished a very creditable 4th, which was made more impressive because most of the team were U12 or U11. We also reached the semi-final of the cup. S Dye
Report on the Milton CC Under 13 Cup match v. Cokenach 13/6/05
Milton 83 for 8 Cokenach 74 all out - Won by 9 runs
A great match that went down to the last over with Milton winning by just 9 runs.. However it all started badly with our top batsman being caught behind in the first over for 2. Milton rallied and finished on 83 for 8 with Liam Dye top scorer on 31 not out. Cokenach’s reply was almost identical, Will Conlon taking a wicket with the second ball of the innings. Will Chamberlin bowled superbly taking 5 wickets for 11 runs off 4 overs, Cokenach all out for 74 in 19.3 overs.and Milton were through to the semi finals of the cup.

Report on the Milton CC Under 13 match v. Longstanton 9/6/05
Milton 140 for 5 Longstanton 104 for s - Won by 36 runs
Milton’s innings got off to a flyer with George Sanderson (19 runs) and Luke Saunders (40 runs) putting 43 on the score sheet for the first wicket off 5 overs. Further good batting from Will Conlon (23 runs) saw Milton finish with a good score of 140 for 5 from their 20 overs. Tight accurate bowling from Will Conlon (4 overs 1 wkt for 6), Stuart Kelsey (2 overs 2 wkts for 3) and Liam Dye (4 overs 1 wkt for 7) kept Longstanton down to 51 for 5 in the first 14 overs. They hit out in the remaining 6 overs and ended on 104 for 6 with their opening batsman not out on 73. Some sloppy fielding toward the end helped their score but overall another solid performance (with room for improvement).

Milton 54 for 3 Over 51 all out - Won by 7 wickets
For the second week running Milton fielded only 10 players. Over won the toss and batted first, they got off to a steady start getting to 34 for 3 off 6 overs. Some fine bowling by Stuart Kelsey (2 overs 3 wickets for 5 runs) and Liam Dye (1.1 overs 4 wickets for 0 runs) and Over were all out for 51 in 12.1 overs. Despite losing an early wicket a stand of 31 runs between George Sanderson (16 runs) and Alex Goodwin (11 runs) saw Milton well on the way to victory, Milton reached their target in 7 overs losing just 2 more wickets

Camden 66 for 10 Milton 135 for 5 - Won by 69 runs
Milton won the toss and batted first losing two wickets in the first two overs. However 14 runs from Sachin Booysen followed by a partnership of 77 between Will Conlon (59 not out) and Will Chamberlin (17 runs) got the Milton innings back on track. Milton finishing on 135 for 5 a good total on a bowler friendly pitch. Camden started with 30 off the first 4 overs for the loss of one wicket. Their second wicket fell at 32 runs with a runout sparking a collapse, Camden were all out for 66 in 14.3 overs with James Linstead taking 2 wickets for 1 run off 1.3 overs. A good result from a team of just 10 players.

Over 116 for 8 Milton 190 for 2 - won by 74 runs
A magnificent 125 runs from Michael Franklin in an 181 run opening partnership with Liam Dye (25runs) saw Milton well on their way to victory in their first round cup match at Over. The innings was completed with 8 not out from James Linstead, Milton finishing on 190 for 2. Some fine bowling by Milton, Will Conlon taking 2 wickets for 7 runs off 4 overs and George Sanderson 2 for 13 off 2 overs meant Over finished on 116 for 8, a win for Milton by 74 runs.

Milton 133 for 5 St Giles 151 for 8 – Lost by 18 runs
First match of the season saw Milton at home to St Giles A on a gloomy evening. St Giles won the toss, batted first, scoring 151 for 8 whilst having the better of the light. Milton got off to the worst possible start losing 3 wickets for 1 run in the first over. A partnership of 73 runs by Michael Franklin and Liam Dye for the forth wicket helped bring Milton back into the game. However with light deteriorating by the over 151 runs was just too tall an order. Milton eventually finished on 133 for 5 losing by just 18 runs against a very good team.
