Report on the Milton CC Under 15 match v. Granta (League) 11.07.05 Milton 61 for 8 (20 overs) Granta 62 for 2 (15.3 overs) Granta won by 8 wickets Milton made a respectable showing against a team which only lost three wickets in their first five matches of the season and seem certain to be premier champions. A steady opening stand by Sam Allen and Simon Coston was ended when Sam was brilliantly caught at mid off one-handed, which was the first of several such chances, made to look ridiculously easy by a fine fielding side. Noone really got going against a very tight attack, although Robbie Welton put in some good shots. In reply the Granta opener took 10 off Nick Seaman’s first three balls, before being comprehensively bowled off Nick’s fourth. Rob Jervis also bowled a lively opening spell and showed his best economy of the season, and the change bowling was also very tidy. Simon Coston was desperately unlucky not to pick up a wicket, and Robbie Welton held a superb caught and bowled. The result was never in doubt, but Milton made the visitors work hard. Robert Henderson
